This is the contract which every single Demarite should be signing upon acceptance into a section. The list of requirements may enlighten you as to what is expected of you as a Demarite.
I, _______________, hereby accept the offer to live in Demarest Special Interest Hall and accept guaranteed housing as a member of the _______________ Special Interest Section for the _______________ academic year. By accepting this offer, I understand that I must abide by the following guidelines set down by the Office of Residence Life and my Special Interest Section.I understand that I must:
- attend all section meetings held by my section.
- attend all section programs held by my section.
- organize at least one major program for my section each semester.
- actively participate in all other section programs.
- contribute to hall-wide programming via participation in Demarest Hall Government.
- encourage foreign language conversation as a member of a cultural section (where applicable).
- abide by all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as outlined by the Office of Residence Life and Division of Housing.
- remain in Demarest Hall throughout the academic year. I understand I must choose a room in the Special Interest Section I have been accepted into.
I understand that I will be evaluated by my section leader and Residence Life staff once per semester. If I am not fulfilling the above requirements, I may be placed on probationary status or removed from my housing space immediately. Evaluations will be based on my contributions to my section and Demarest Hall according to the above requirements.
